The Pride Institute operates a dedicated Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for individuals of the Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender community. PHP is the first level of step-down from inpatient offering patients the opportunity to participate in process group therapy sessions and psycho-educational groups a total of four hours per day five days per week. The groups are geared towards individuals with co-occurring disorders (i.e. substance abuse and mental health). Treatment is provided by a Masters level therapist using techniques proven to be beneficial in a group setting.
Pride's Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is considered the second level of step-down from inpatient treatment. The same types of groups are provided as described for PHP; however IOP only operates three days per week, four hours per day.
Tranportation is provided by the hospital for patients who are residents of Broward County. Additionally, breakfast and lunch are provided at no extra cost to the patient. Patients often discover that Pride Outpatient is not only a place to further their treatment in an outpatient setting, but a source of social interaction to meet new friends.
Upon request, we can also suggest referrals for sober living, individual therapy, psychiatrists, and connections to HIV case management through other organizations.
