Being a teenager is hard. There are many stressors uniquely linked to teenagers, like the need to be well-liked by peers, to do well in school, to make your family proud, and to make responsible decisions. Worrying about these pressures is normal, but when a teenager becomes overwhelmed by feelings of sadness, rage, hopelessness, or worthlessness there may be an underlying mental health problem.
Fort Lauderdale Hospital provides inpatient treatment to adolescents ages 11-17 suffering from mental health, substance abuse, or co-occurring disorders. We offer both inpatient acute programs as well as a long-term residential program.
