Fort Lauderdale Hospital provides both detoxification and rehabilitation from drugs and alcohol. We pride ourselves on making our patients comfortable through a safe, medically supervised detoxification process that will strongly reduce the pain and discomfort of the withdrawal process.
Patients are closely monitored during detoxification by our interdisciplinary treatment team of psychiatrists, medical doctors, nurses, Master's level therapists, and mental health technicians to ensure medical safety and patient comfort. The program is also equipped to address co-occurring disorders psychiatric issues that often accompany the disease of addictions.
Patients are given an introduction to the 12-step addiction model and are provided with an opportunity to begin their individual 12-step journey as part of their treatment. Group therapy, individual counseling, and recreation therapy are provided to all patients. At Fort Lauderdale Hospital, we realize the impact that addiction has on the whole family system. As such, family sessions and education with family members are available and highly encouraged as part of the plan of care. In addition, multiple 12-step support groups come to the hospital, affording patients exposure to different types of valuable 12-step groups including AA, NA, and CA while under the supportive care of the treatment team.
